Biography
Ellie trained at Guildford School of Acting and, after graduating, went straight into the hit BBC drama Waterloo Road as junkie tear-away Maxine Barlow (series 2, 3 and 4). During this time she also filmed series such as The Bill and Casualty and played opposite Joanna Christie (Equs, West End) in the Belgrade theatre’s sell-out production One Night in November.
Having completed Waterloo Road she headed South to play shy, Romanie Alva Wicklow in The BBC’s Ashes to Ashes and, last year, worked with David Threlfall and the rest of the Shameless cast when she filmed a gripping three episodes of the hit comedy drama as bubbly Sammy Dee.
Recent work includes Justice - a five part drama for BBC1; The Crucible at Regent Park's open air theatre (as Betty Parris); Shelagh Stephenson’s The Long Road at the incredible, new Curve theatre Leicester; The 24 Hour Plays (The Old Vic), Symposium (The Old Vic) and Eloquent Protest at The Duke of York’s Theatre where she played alongside artists such as Samuel West and Jason Isaacs.
ELLIE IS CURRENTLY APPEARING as Dorothy in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz at The Bolton Octagon Theatre. WATCH OUT FOR HER on Casualty (BBC TV) on Saturday 19th November.
As a young, northern actress, she first trod the boards at The Royal Exchange (Arabian Nights) and the Lowry theatres (Feelgood Theatre Production’s The Wizard of Oz) and appeared in television productions such as Burn It (BBC TV), Blood Strangers and The Illustrated Mum (ITV).
